NASM Certified Personal Trainer!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
On Tuesday, I passed my NASM Certified Personal Training exam! I honestly can not remember the last time I felt that thrilled, relieved, and excited! I've always lacked confidence with studying, exams and any type of "educational" program in general, so having been able to pass my first time around feels like such an accomplishment. I'm not one to usually say "Wow, I'm so proud of myself".., but seriously guys..this exam was no joke..so yes, I am extremely proud of myself LOL.

A few things on NASM!

Why did I choose NASM?
I spoke to several personal trainers who took NASM and ACE. I felt as though NASM provided a wider range of information (focusing heavily on the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems of the body). NASM is highly respected in the fitness industry, as well. I haven't taken science since my Junior year of high school..so this was very difficult for me! I really had to soak up everything and challenge myself to get it down.

What package did I choose?
I told myself..If I am going to do this, it's going to be all or nothing. I signed up for the biggest package. Including EVERYTHING! Yes, it was the most expensive, but I truly feel like I passed because of the amount of support tools provided. Also, I was able to sign up for a monthly payment fee. I signed up for the "ASSOCIATE PERSONAL TRAINING EXPERIENCE" Package for a total of $1,999.

THE ASSOCIATE PERSONAL TRAINER EXPERIENCE WITH JOB GUARANTEE PACKAGE INCLUDES:
  • Certification Exam
  • Online Practice Exam
  • Textbook
  • Over 7 hours of Online Course Content/Presentations
  • Online Exercise Library with over 200 exercise demonstrations
  • Interactive Learning Activities
  • Interactive Program Design Module
  • CPT Exam Prep Super Bundle
  • NASM’s 9-week online exam prep course - CPT eTeach
  • Live Workshop (Personal Fitness or Exam Prep)
  • One free CPT Exam retest
  • 60 day Job Guarantee
  • Enrollment in the Associate Personal Trainer Experience, an 8-week, 80 hours of in-club experience

MY OVERALL THOUGHTS!
  • STUDY STUDY STUDY! It is crucial to do it all.. notes, memorizing, flash cards, online exams, quizzes, games, everything!
  • Make it practical. I love working out, so when I would lift or work on core movements, I would tell myself what muscles I was working!
  • GET HELP! You don't have to do this alone. I used my parents, sister, co-workers to really help me go through the material and quiz me.
  • HAVE CONFIDENCE! Your passion goes a long way. I honestly would have never thought I would pass my first time around, but after loving this for so long, you already start to pick up on things!

SO.... what now? To be honest, I am not too sure! Do I want to begin personal training? Yes, one day! I have one more certification coming my way in June. I'll be a Certified Pop Pilates Instructor..woot! I am also currently in the process of becoming a FlyWheel instructor...There's a lot going on, but I thank God everyday for all of these blessings in my life.

Alright, go do some squats ;)
